About Ancient Warfare Magazine

This glossy publication provides extravagantly colored diagrams, maps and full page color plates. The publication has a very specialized focus that of military history of the Greek and Roman civilizations. Of interest to history buffs, military re-enactors, military strategists and even wargamers find it helpful.

Each issue has a central theme that is followed through the entire magazine. The editorial calendar announces the pending themes so subscribers know what to look forward to. A theme can be a military campaign or just a siege.

Each theme is introduced within a historical setting and the bibliographic sources for the theme are also always provided such whether the information is coming from a historical account or perhaps an archaeological excavation.

A variety of articles that go along with the theme are included such as profiles of warriors or descriptions of different battles. The writers of these historical treatises are well versed in their subject material and include authors such as Bob Bennett, Mike Roberts and Lukas de Blois.
