Classic American... Classic Magazine!
I've somehow just put down my copy of Classic American... it was more or less glued to my hand! I found it doesn’t diverge from the title in any way, shape or form. From Corvettes to Cadillac’s, Mercury’s to Mustang’s, if it’s a classic American car, you will find it here! The magazine consists of articles on the typical muscle cars, as would be expected, however it isn’t all about the muscle. Features on smaller, but by no means less significant cars are prevalent throughout. The magazine obviously caters for those with a keen interest in old school American cars, yet is also informative and interesting for those with no background on the topic. Articles are clearly understandable, and not too much specialist knowledge is used in the main articles, however the further you read in to the magazine the more in depth it gets. The magazine concentrates mainly on cars built from the 50’s and 60’s however includes classics from many other eras. Regular features include ‘Discoveries’, a somewhat surprising feature which consists of old scrap cars having their fortunes turned, ‘Muscle Car Profile’, which takes one car each issue and explains everything possible on that specific model, and ‘Events & Cruises’, which lists intriguing classic American car events and cruises from across the length and breadth of Britain.
Classic American is a great read for all, whether a car fanatic or somebody new to this field. It is packed with all you need to know about old school American cars, and not just the petrol guzzling beasts you would expect. The magazine covers a wide range of cars, regardless of size or shape and has some spectacular regular features, including where to find the car you want, and even where to take it, with events and cruises happening all over the UK. The magazine is packed with reviews and interviews with legends in the classic American car trade, such as Tom Falconer, well respected author and owner of Claremont Corvette.
