Review of Mountain Bike Rider (MBR) magazine

The magazine which I buy most frequently is MBR, a specialist magazne for mountain bike riders. The main reason that I buy this magazine, rather than the other magazines available, is the focus on graded UK trails with great descriptions and maps. There are other sections ranging from product reviews, maintenance tips and trail centre reviews which are all well written and illustrated liberally with photographs. A particular favourite is the 'Old blokes who should know better' items which shows photographs of gory injuries sustained by readers whilst riding. A monthly prize of protective gear is given to the best! If I had to describe my least favourite item, it would be the overseas trails section, which provides stunning photography but is of little value to the average UK rider due to the cost involved in transporting bikes abroad. More UK trails would be better or maybe more space given to local groups and shops who organise regular local rides. All things considered a very good magazine catering for a specific type of rider, Hopefully the new editor will not try to broaden he appeal too much but will keep focussed on the core readership.
