Burda Style

I love the magazine, there are always patterns that I want to make. But the subscription always seems to arrive so late.

I grew up with Burda!

My mother is a fashion designer and she has started her fashion label in a late 80's. She has always dressed me into latest fashion trends and made me and my seven years old wear matching outfits. I remember browsing pages of Burda in my mum's study and pretending I'm a big designer. She had every single issue and she taught me how to sew with little help of this magazine. Now I run the company and I'm not ashamed to say that I sometimes use Burda to find my inspiration and if I have a daughter one day I will pass all my collected Burda issues on her and hope she will love the magazine the same way like me and my mother do. Thank you Burda for great inspiration and help through the years.

Burda Magazine

This magazine is fabulous it explains every thing someone needs to do, it also has a step by step instructions on how to make up the garment, it also keeps up with the modern style of the world today. My mum has the Burda patterns from the eighties and i sometimes use them because they have lots of things that people still wear and it looks vintage as well as it is different to other things most people wear. I also have the modern ones which I love to use. I highly recommend these patterns to people because they are easy to follow and they have beautiful patterns.

Burda, wonderful Burda!

I love Burda! Where else can you see all the latest fashions and then see how to make them? Yes, you have to trace out your own patterns, and add the seam allowances and hems. And the instructions do assume a fair amount of knowledge about sewing. BUT, you get a magazine full of the latest fashions! I've now made a number of garments from the burda style magazine and absolutely love it! :-)

Always in step with fashion

Igrew up with Burda Moden in Austria in the Fifties. My mum was a fantastic dressmaker and I learned all the tricks of the trade from her. The main difference between her and me is that she did all the dressmaking and tailoring out of necessity and I do it as a very satisfying hobby. I like to look a little different from the High Street fashions and with Burda patterns I can achieve an individual style. I find that the patterns are spot on with fashion details and I always look forward to each new edition of Burda.

My teacher-Burda

My mother was my first teacher about sewing,Burda magazine made me like professional, and still teaches me new techniques. For 15years I buy the magazine and take with me everywhere I move together with my machines. It's patterns are only what I use-even no matter the language of the country edition,I still understand very well. Thanks a lot!

Burda Magazine

This magazine is a god send. Besides the fact it gives you so many different ideas for sewing garments with loads of wonderful, well illustrated pictures, each magazine contains the patterns - not just the info of where to buy them. Think about it. It's rare to be able to buy a dress pattern for under £5 these days and each of these magazines contains 30+ patterns, mostly womens' fashion but some for men, children and homeware items too. All with instructions. The patterns are very accurate and easy to trace / cut. I adore this magazine - it's worth every penny.

Best sewing magazine!!!!!

I have been using Burda since early 90's when I began my sewing experiments only coming into my teens. This is The best available sewing magazine, that provides very accurate patterns and very comprehensive instructions, which are useful for any level of experience. The models are presented in different variations using numerous stylish adjustments to the same basic pattern. Plus they offer step-by-step instructions and HOW_TO sections. The only problem- it is only available in one shop in Ireland, and they don't even bother timely offering new issues. Do subscribe to this wonderful magazine and indulge in the world of fabrics, threads, trimmings to create your unique look. If this is what you are after- do not delay!!!

Burda patterns

I have been making clothes from Burda Patterns for over 20yrs now. I rate them the easiest, best fitting & stylish patterns available. As a single mum I made all my childrens clothes including winter coats at a fraction of cost of bought coats & of course they were all unique & individual. Every year I made myself a new winter coat which always looked like something off the catwalk! This lead to many requests for dressmaking bringing in a much needed extra income. Thanks Burda!

I love the way they show the patterns and the sewing course. They explain every detail of the garment.
