About Red Pepper Magazine
The magazine came into circulation as a direct impact of the Socialist movement, which took place in Chesterfield in 1987. The Socialists believed in the need for a magazine, without the affiliation of any political party, and were convinced that there was a demand for a regular green-left publication, expressing their ideas.
it is completely independent, and while not rejecting party politics, Red Pepper seeks to help build the kind of pluralistic, dynamic movements which can fundamentally challenge our economic system, with its entrenched injustice, structures of power and oppression, and tendency towards war and environmental destruction.
Run on a minimal budget, they strongly believe that the left need publications that are non-sectarian and not afraid to take a stand.
